Fees & Refunds.
How Dottegigs handles credits, platform fees, cancellations, refunds, payment records, and beta payment limitations.
1. Overview
This policy explains how Dottegigs fees, credits, cancellations, refunds, payment processor issues, and beta payment limitations work. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
2. Credits
Dottegigs may use credits for platform actions such as posting gigs, applying to gigs, boosting visibility, or accessing paid features. Credit prices and usage requirements may be shown at purchase or before the relevant action.
Credits are not a bank account, stored-value account, deposit account, or currency. They are a platform feature used to access Dottegigs services.
3. Posting and Application Fees
We may charge clients to post gigs and freelancers to submit proposals or access selected opportunities. Fees help reduce spam, discourage fake activity, and support the operation of the marketplace.
Unless stated otherwise, fees are charged when the paid action is completed, even if a gig receives no proposals, a proposal is not selected, or a user later changes their mind.
4. Payment Processing
Payments may be processed by third-party providers such as card, mobile money, bank, or online payment processors. Those providers may have their own terms, fees, settlement times, limits, reversals, or identity checks.
Dottegigs is not responsible for delays, outages, declined payments, processor errors, bank charges, network charges, exchange rates, or third-party fees outside our control.
5. Cancellations
Clients may cancel drafts or unpublished gigs through available account controls. Once a gig is posted, cancellation does not automatically refund posting fees or credits used.
Freelancers may withdraw proposals where available. Withdrawal does not automatically refund any credits or application fees used to submit the proposal.
6. Refunds
Refunds may be considered where:
- A duplicate charge occurred because of a technical or processor error
- A paid platform action failed due to a Dottegigs system issue
- We remove a paid feature before you receive the core benefit of that feature
- Applicable law requires a refund
Refunds may be declined where:
- You received the paid platform action or credit benefit
- You breached our Terms of Service, including the acceptable use rules
- A gig, proposal, or contract did not lead to the outcome you wanted
- The issue is between users and should be handled through the dispute process
7. Chargebacks
If you dispute a payment with your bank or payment provider, we may pause account features, request information, reverse credits, or suspend related transactions while the chargeback is reviewed.
8. Beta Payment Limitations
Dottegigs does not currently provide escrow or payment protection for user-to-user transactions. Unless we expressly state otherwise, we do not hold funds as escrow, guarantee payment, guarantee delivery, or act as a payment intermediary for user-to-user payments. Native escrow support is planned but is not currently available unless a specific platform feature expressly states otherwise.
Users should use clear written terms, milestones, invoices, receipts, approval records, and reputable independent safeguards where appropriate.
9. Changes
We may update fees, credit pricing, paid features, refund rules, and payment methods. Material changes will be shown on the Platform or communicated where appropriate.
